The CDC has provided guidance to landlords and property managers about the rules governing halting eviction for nonpayment of rent during the moratorium. The moratorium will continue till December 31, 2020

Eviction Moratorium ExtendedList Item 2
As many property management and landlords expected, with the worsening death toll due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the CDC has extended the date for the eviction moratorium for nonpayment of rent till March 31, 2021

Texas Supreme Court Emergency Order 31List Item 3
The Texas Supreme Court has issued a 31st emergency order in regards to the COVID 19 pandemic. The court is encouraging tenants, landlords, and property managers (acting on behalf of landlords) to work through the Texas Eviction Diversion Program.

Texas Property Code Regarding Month to Month Lease and Notice to Terminate
At this point, due to the uncertainty in regards to evicting tenants for nonpayment of rent; Ashoka Lion proeprty management is not renewing leases and is extending tenants to month to month tenancy. Per the Texas property code, the property management company or owner has to give the tenants at one months time to vacate after notice has been given.
